AOA training recognition

For DOs who completed ACGME, federal or military training programs

Access the forms you'll need to obtain AOA recognition of ACGME, federal, or military residency training.

The AOA currently recognizes ACGME training as AOA training to allow DOs to become board eligible in their respective specialties and for licensure in Pennsylvania which requires an AOA approved PGY1 year. This is a simple process that requires (1) completing an online application; (2) a letter from your program with your PGY1 rotations; and/or (3) completion of an osteopathic educational activity.

DOs interested in AOA board certification must also have their ACGME training recognized by the AOA. DOs will also need to have their entire residency or fellowship recognized by the AOA.
